Associates of IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA Enhancing Knowledge about Digital Violence

Category: News Tags:

Digital violence affects women with disabilities in a unique and often invisible way. Webinar UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls: voices of women with disabilities, social network security, and inclusion problematized the question of digital justice that includes persons with disabilities in the battle against gender-based violence.

More than fifty experts, activists, and women with disabilities assembled at the webinar to talk about key challenges such as online harassment, cyber stalking, doxing, revenge, and deep fake pornography.

The participants, among whom were the associates of IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA, had an opportunity to hear about experiences firsthand from women moving through cyberspace, learn about the intersection of justice for persons with disabilities and digital justice, and about how cyber violence affects women and girls with disabilities, gain insights into online safety and the inclusive strategies needed to ensure safe, accessible, and impartial online spaces. They gain information about approaches to strengthening protection mechanisms and creating inclusive policies, as well as about global cooperation to end gender-based digital violence.

MyRight, an umbrella organization of the Swedish movement for the rights of persons with disabilities for international development work, organized the webinar UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls: voices of women with disabilities, social network security, and inclusion, within the Campaign UNiTE 2025 for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence. It took place on December 2, 2025, on the Microsoft Teams online platform in English, with international sign language interpretation and live captioning.
