The Services of the Info Center in the First Trimester of 2022.

Info Center of the Organization for supporting women with disabilities IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA provides information services to persons with disabilities, members of their families and citizens interested in disability about the rights, benefits, services and existing support services for persons with disabilities.

From January 10 – 31, 2022. associates of the Info Center provided 97 services for 39 beneficiaries – 34 women (22 without disabilities and 12 with physical disabilities) and 5 men (3 without disabilities and 2 with physical and combined disabilities). Persons with disabilities mostly asked about rights and benefits for members of their families that have disabilities (calls from parents of children with autism and physical disabilities as well as calls from children of parents with disabilities).

During this period, associates mostly provided information services (66) about rights in the area of social welfare (conditions for earning compensation for kindship foster care, adoption procedure, services of care and assistance at home), pension and disability insurance (conditions for exercising the right to maternity leave, increased allowance for assistance and care of another person, conditions for employing persons with disabilities, benefits for car plates), health care (scheduling preventive gynecological exams for women with disabilities). In addition to providing information, 24 referrals to other institutions, organizations and support services were done (Welfare Center, Center for Family accommodation and Adoption, Pension- Disability Fund, Chamber of Social Welfare, Health Center, other NGOs, institutions, psychological support services and legal help) and 7 consultations with a lawyer (on the conditions for obtaining an increased allowance for assistance and care of another person, maternity leave and paid leave absence from work to care for a child with a disability).

Beneficiaries in most cases addressed the Organization via phone (57%), less by e-mail (29%), by social networks Facebook and Instagram (10%) and personally (4%). Communication by phone is still for most beneficiaries the most efficient way to get fast and reliable information, especially if the beneficiary in question doesn’t use social networks and the internet as much.

Most beneficiaries are from towns (36) and fewer come from rural areas (3). Next to numerous calls from Vojvodina (Novi Sad, Veternik, Temerin, Backi Jarak, Stepanovicevo, Opovo), calls from other parts of Serbia were recorded (Belgrade, Raska, Pancevo, Uzice, Cacak, Vrnjacka Banja, Valjevo, Vranje) and from the Estonian intellectual center Tartu.

Compared to the same period last year, a significant rise in the number of provided services and beneficiaries has been recorded, which is in our opinion due to better promotion of the Organization and Info Center in media and on social networks
