IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA at the Expert Meeting on Security Risks


A coordinator of the SOS service of IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA, Ivana Zelic, participated at the expert meeting Assessment and Management of Security Risks in Domestic Violence for the professionals from Social Welfare Centers and representatives of women’s NGOs that provide support to women with the experience of violence.

The meeting took place in Belgrade on March 7, 2022. Autonomous Women’s Center organized it within the project Institutionalizing Quality Rehabilitation and Integration Services for Violence Survivors financed by the Austrian Development Agency

The aim of the meeting is to improve knowledge and skills for assessing and managing security risks in situations of domestic violence against women in family and partnerships, especially during divorce, child trust and parenthood after divorce. Cross-sectoral cooperation and coordinated action are needed to reduce the risk of serious injury or death of women and to increase the level of safety, health and well-being of women and their children. In addition, the participants had a chance to exchange experience about the ways they assess security risks and make safety plans for women exposed to violence and to discuss the existing practice of imposing urgent measures of protection against domestic violence. 

The moderators of the meeting were Tanja Ignjatovic, a psychologist and a coordinator of the program Good Practice in Responding to Domestic Violence and Vanja Macanovic, a lawyer and a coordinator of the legal team in the Autonomous Women’s Center.
