A regular meeting of the Steering Committee was held in the Organization for supporting women with disabilities IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA on June 8, 2022.
Svjetlana Timotic, an executive director of IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA summoned the meeting.
The meeting was attended by: Milesa Milinkovic, chairwoman of the Steering Committee and a director of the Creative Affirmative Organization Parnas, the members of the Steering Committee: Olivera Pejak Prokes, a judge in the Court of Appeals in Novi Sad; Marija Vrebalov Djordjevic, a graduate interior designer and a counselor for issues on accessibility; Svetlana Jankovic Beljanski, a graduate economist; Jana Damjanov, a clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. In addition to the members of the Steering Committee the meeting was attended by Veronika Mitro, a program manager and editor of the Portal o invalidnosti and Ivana Zelic, a coordinator of the Service for Protection against Gender-Based Violence.
Svjetlana Timotic opened the meeting and presented current circumstances in IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA in the context of the development of the organization from its inception until today. Veronika Mitro apprised the participants of the meeting about the current events in the organization and presented them with The Activity Plan for 2022. Ivana Zelic talked about the cooperation with the organizations and institutions on local, provincial and national levels. She pointed out that the Organization IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA continuously provides all services regardless of all challenges. Olivera Pejak Prokes believes that women with disabilities are invisible in the justice system and that in addition to informing women with disabilities, it is necessary to work on sensitizing the representatives of the judicial system. Svetlana Jankovic Beljanski sees her contribution to the work of IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA specifically in financial management, animating women with disabilities from Valjevo to get involved in the activities of the organization and encouraging cooperation with relevant bodies, institutions and civil society organizations from Valjevo. Milesa Milinkovic stands for the visibility of the problems and achievements of women with disabilities and the improvement of their position in society. Milesa will work on connecting IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA with the existing initiatives and networks within the movement for persons with disabilities in Serbia, the region and the world. Jana Damjanov will contribute to the work of IZ KRUGA VOJVODINA by providing support in preparing training programs for accreditation.
Participants of the meeting discussed the possibilities of providing funds for the work of the organization from different sources, as well as prerequisites for launching new initiatives. The next meeting is scheduled for September 2022.
